A-Z Feelings book
In PreFirst and First Grade classes, we’re continuing our discussion about empathy by reading the book pictured above. It’s a wonderful book that is also a guessing game, and the children love to guess the feeling described by the words and shown in the pictures. Students are instructed to practice self-control while I’m reading the description on each page, only volunteering answers when given a specific hand signal. Some of the feeling words that many of the students have guessed: happy, angry, lonely, jealous, and confused. Some of the words that no one has guessed so far: overwhelmed, zany, mischievous, and queasy.
