Day 1: Every day counts

Day 1 of Faculty Forum at The Westminster Schools has concluded, and if today is any indication of what’s in store for 2014-2015, it’s going to be a fantastic year! All faculty and staff gathered for a delicious breakfast in Malone Dining Hall at 8:00. There’s something incredibly special about our being together in one room. So many hugs, so much laughter, and such hopeful anticipation of all that comes with a brand new year. President Keith Evans welcomed us there and then in a longer presentation in Kellett Theater.

Then the Love Hall faculty and staff gathered in our library, and the laughter and joy only increased with Head of Lower School Whit McKnight’s kickoff talk and team-building activity. I wish you could know the sincere happiness we feel as teachers, counselors, librarians, nurses, and coaches of your children. We are so lucky to work with Westminster’s youngest Wildcats from August through May, and as Mr. McKnight said in a small group yesterday evening at our back-to-school gathering, “Every day counts.” Such wonderful truth. Imagine all that we do in one day! From Morning Meeting to dismissal, it all counts.

Please carefully read Mr. McKnight’s welcome back letter and the Lower School information on the Wildcat Web to have the most current information about next week’s first day of school. Email or call me if you have any question I might be able to answer. If I don’t know the answer, I’ll find someone who does!

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of being with your children every day this school year. We absolutely cannot wait to begin!
